Welcome to SplitLedger. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the SplitLedger application.

2.1 Information You Provide Directly

  • Group information: Group name, start date, end date
  • Member information: Names/aliases of group members
  • Expense information: Amount, category, notes, payer, beneficiaries
  • Images: Receipt photos you capture and attach to expenses

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: Device type, operating system, language
  • Usage information: App usage time, features used
  • Analytics data: App usage events (such as creating groups, adding expenses) are sent to Firebase Analytics to improve the application. This data is anonymous and does not include personal information

2.3 Information from Third Parties

  • Google Account: When you connect Google for data sync, we access your Google account email and name

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and maintain the application service
  • Store and synchronize your expense data
  • Calculate and suggest settlement transactions
  • Sync data to Google Sheet/Drive at your request
  • Improve and develop new features
  • Send reminder notifications (if you allow)

4. Data Storage

4.1 Local Storage

  • All expense data is stored on your device (SQLite database)
  • The application works completely offline
  • You have full control over your data

4.2 Cloud Sync (Optional)

When you choose to connect Google:

  • Data is pushed to your Google Sheet
  • Receipt photos are stored on your Google Drive
  • We do not store your data on our own servers

5. Google API Services User Data Policy

Important: This section describes how SplitLedger uses and protects data from Google APIs, in compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5.1 Google Data We Access

  • Email and account name: Authentication and displaying user information
  • Google Drive (drive.file): Create folders and store receipt images created by the app
  • Google Sheets: Create and update spreadsheets to store expense data

5.2 How We Use Google Data

  • User authentication: Use Google account for sign-in
  • Create spreadsheet: Store group expense data in your Google Sheet
  • Upload receipt images: Store images in a dedicated folder on your Google Drive
  • Data synchronization: Enable access to data from multiple devices

5.3 Limited Use Disclosure

We commit to strictly comply with Google's Limited Use requirements:

We WILL:

  • Only access data necessary for the features described
  • Only access files created by SplitLedger (not your other files)
  • Allow you to delete data and disconnect at any time

We will NOT:

  • NOT sell your Google data
  • NOT share Google data with third parties (unless required by law)
  • NOT use Google data for advertising purposes
  • NOT use Google data to build credit profiles or for lending
  • NOT transfer Google data to AI/ML models unrelated to app features

5.4 Google Data Security

  • Connection to Google uses OAuth 2.0 (high security standard)
  • Tokens are securely stored on your device
  • We do not store your Google password
  • Data is encrypted during transmission (HTTPS)

6. Firebase Analytics

6.1 Analytics Data We Collect

We use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand how users interact with our application. Data collected includes:

  • Usage events (creating groups, adding expenses, settling up...)
  • Number of app opens
  • Time spent on features
  • Device type and operating system

Important: Analytics data is anonymous and does NOT include:

  • Names, emails, or personally identifiable information
  • Specific expense amounts
  • Note contents or group names

6.2 Analytics Data Usage

Analytics data is collected automatically to help us improve the application. This data collection is essential for:

  • Understanding which features are most useful
  • Identifying and fixing bugs
  • Improving app performance

Since analytics data is completely anonymous and does not contain any personal information, there is no opt-out option. If you prefer not to share any data, you may uninstall the application.

We DO NOT sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties, except:

  • Google: When you use the Google Sheet/Drive sync feature
  • Firebase Analytics: Anonymous usage data for app improvement
  • Legal requirements: When required by law or legal process

  • No storage of passwords or long-term tokens on servers

  • Edit or delete any expense, member, or group

9.3 Delete Data

  • Deleting a group will delete all related data
  • Uninstalling the app will delete all local data
  • To delete data on Google Sheet/Drive, please delete directly in Google Drive

9.4 Disconnect Google

  • You can disconnect Google at any time in Settings
  • Local data will remain intact
  • To completely revoke access, please visit Google Account Permissions and remove SplitLedger

10. Children's Privacy

SplitLedger is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.


11. Policy Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When significant changes occur, we will notify you within the application.
